We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, on the 15th and 16th of March, and had an excellent experience.
The room was fabulous—a suite overlooking the valley and facing east, offering a breathtaking sunrise view. From around 5:30 AM, the orange hues on the horizon were simply mesmerizing and beyond words.
The room was spacious and well-equipped, providing both luxury and comfort. The kids’ play area was a great addition; my son eagerly looked forward to the evenings and spent nearly two hours enjoying games like foosball, air hockey, carrom, board games, and the video game arcade.
Breakfast was outstanding—easily one of the best I’ve ever had, despite staying at many hotels across India. The idlis were soft and hot, the vadas were crispy and delicious, and items like uthappam, pongal, and upma were excellent. The spread perfectly balanced local and global cuisine, ranging from traditional koozhu with sides to omelets prepared fresh on order.
The location is another major highlight. It is within walking distance of Kodaikanal Lake, Bryant Park, and Coaker’s Walk. Several fine dining restaurants, such as Cream Centre, Truly Herbivores, and Astoria Veg, are also just a 10-minute walk away. A lively local market is located about 100 meters from the entrance and is especially bustling on Sundays.
The hotel has ample parking. The only minor challenge is the steep access road, which is unavoidable given the location. However, the security staff were extremely kind and even shared helpful local tips.
A couple of suggestions for improvement:
• ID proof was requested even for my 12-year-old son, which could be avoided.
• The hot water supply was occasionally inconsistent, possibly specific to our room.
That said, the staff were incredibly kind, courteous, and supportive—guiding us patiently when we got stuck on routes and staying on call whenever needed.
Special thanks to Manager Rajesh and his team, Prashanth (who guided us from the bus stand during check-in), and Anand (who assisted us again when the main market route was blocked).
Overall, it was a fantastic stay and a highly recommended hotel in Kodaikanal.
